Use an internal test contact

Choose your own phone number, a teammate’s number, or a dedicated test number. Keep it separate from the audience you will later use for customer campaigns.

Test your setup, step by step

1. Check WhatsApp is verified.
   Where: Dashboard → Integrate WABA. Confirm the connection card does not show a warning and that Wtflo shows an active or verified connection.
2. Add your test person.
   Where: Left sidebar → Contacts → Contact Directory → Add contact. Add the test name and phone number with its country code.
3. Mark the test contact.
   Where: the test contact’s profile. Add a tag such as Internal test, so you do not accidentally include the person in a customer campaign.
4. Check the inbox.
   Where: Left sidebar → Core → WA Chat. When the test number messages your business number, confirm that the conversation appears in WA Chat.
5. Test one feature at a time.
   Where: the feature you are learning. Test one approved template or automation only with the internal contact, then check the result before you scale.
